How did you end up with Team NewCold?
I did athletics, specifically hurdling, for a long time. After becoming Dutch champion several times and participating in international competitions, including the U20 World Championships, I got into bobsledding. During a training camp in Tenerife, I decided together with my coach to fill out the interest form of the BSBN (Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation Netherlands). Shortly after, I was called and asked to go to Igls to get acquainted with bobsledding, and that's how it happened.
What do you find the coolest about the sport you practice within Team NewCold?
The coolest thing about bobsledding, in my opinion, is the adrenaline rush you get during the descent. It's really incomparable to anything else in the world.
Do you have any tips for young athletes who want to succeed in bobsledding?
My tip to young athletes is to enjoy what you do. Go to your training every day with a smile, and the rest will follow.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Hopefully, in 2026, we'll be at the Olympic Games in Milan/Cortina with the team. That's where I see myself as well.
What has been your most memorable moment within Team NewCold so far?
My most memorable moment so far is after run 1 in the EC (European Cup) in Sigulda, where I was in 4th place, with only two German teams and one Latvian team ahead of me.
